The Konami Code
This totally unpopular song was inspired by the music of Mega Man 2 which brought a revolutionary level of sophistication to the world of 8-bit nintendo game music. Gone were the days of classics such as the themes from Robowarrior and Lee Trevino's Fighting
Golf. A new era of music had begun and Galaxy Blastoff wanted to cash in. The release of Mega Man 2 coincided with that of two other popular games, Contra and Life Force, both of which employed the popular cheat code that Galaxy Blastoff would immortalize in this song.
They were determined to capture the essence of the Mega Man music (particularly that of the "Flashman" and "Crashman" stages). But unfortunately it took six years to create a sound that would mimic the exact timbre of the Mega Man tones, so the song didn't come
out until well after the musical revolution. Lets just say they never tried that again.
